This 1969 Cougar has been in storage since 1979, and was apparently parked in a garage because of the transmission. It had a few dings and body repairs in its first 10 years of life, but all in all is a reasonably straight car. The worst areas are a small rear floor pan rust-through from a leaking convertible top and a spot on the front fender caused by battery acid. We've already repaired these items. Since this car was in such decent shape to start with. We started this project in January of 2008, and the status that you read here is as of March 2008. We are ahead of schedule and anticipate being done with all the major items by June of 2008.
We soda blasted the car, and have already epoxied it and minor bodywork is underway. The 351 and FMX trans have already been rebuilt and have been re-installed. The rear end and all the suspension, and brakes have been done. The exhaust system is under way. It will be a factory sounding dual system. Electrical will be underway during breaks in the bodywork phases.
